The Parent Resource Room is open to families with children enrolled in either program site. The room is equipped with a meeting table, printer and workstation and houses our parent lending library. Our Parent Lending Library offers a continually growing library of books, magazines and DVDs related to infant and child development. The Lending Library is located in the Suttles Center. Check out our library for books with ideas on preschool and toddler activities, financial planning, behavior disorders and many more.

Our library policy allows you to check books and materials out free of charge. Please check with the Resource Coordinator to check out materials. We simply require that you return the materials by the due date, located in the back of the book. Books not returned by the due date are charged a $.05 per day late fee. Fees must be paid in cash on the date the materials are returned to the library.

Parent Committee

The Child Development Program has a parent committee at each of its centers. We encourage parents to join one of the following subcommittees: communications, community involvement, and staff appreciation.

Room Representatives

Room representatives provide a connection between the parents and your child’s classroom staff. Being a room representative is a great way to get to know other parents, as well as get to know your child’s teachers. As a room representative, you may be in charge of coordinating activities in honor your child’s classroom teachers, requesting volunteers for the classroom and much more.  We appreciate assistance from volunteers and parents. See your child’s lead teacher for more information on how to become a room representative.

Birthday Celebrations

The Child Development Program’s childcare centers are nut free facilities. In order to ensure that our children are not exposed to nut products or those produced in a nut facility when planning a birthday celebration, we encourage you to remember to check ingredients and make sure that anything you bring in is nut free. A suggested snack list is available in your child’s classroom. In order to ensure that the classrooms staff has time to prepare please give one week’s advance notice. Also, we encourage parents to plan birthday celebrations during the afternoon snack.
